MARCUS KEITH BURTON

Marcus Keith Burton was born Labor Day, Monday, September 04, 1958, in Memphis, Tennessee to Mrs. Jim Edna Burton, and Mr. Willie D. Burton. He was the second son of 5 children.
Marcus, was a proud student of Cypress Jr. High School, where he was a member of the school band and an outstanding diligent member of Cypress Jr. High School Track Team. Marcus continued his love for Track, as a student of Kingsbury High School, where he earned great acclaim and many awards as a member of the school track club. Marcus is a graduate of Kingsbury High School.
After graduation, Marcus joined The Military Branch of the United States Air Force where he served years. Throughout his Military service Marcus continued his love of the sport track, and went on to participate in many Marathons. The Boston Marathon was a favorite, and where he often placed as one of the top finalists.
After Military service, Marcus retired to Jessup Maryland where he married Cynthia Mitchell and produced his first son of two, Marcus Sinclair Burton. Marcus worked for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. Marcus was a 30 year employee at METRO and was held in high esteem.
Later in life Marcus would relocate to Silver Springs Maryland, where he lived a lively life and enjoyed a long relationship with Helen Austin with whom he later produced his second son, Alexander Keith Burton.
Marcus eventually settled in a home located in Hyattsville, MD, where he always dreamed of owning a home. Marcus enjoyed many hobbies, running, biking, boating, automobiles, traveling, cooking, scuba diving, fishing, hunting, gardening, winemaking, dancing, fashion, electronic repair and several others.
Marcus Keith Burton was a true lover of life!
Marcus was preceded in death by his Mother, Jim Edna Burton. He leaves to cherish his memory his Father Willie D. Burton, Willie D. Burton Jr
(Velvetta Burton), twin sisters Rita and Rene Burton, and brother
Ricky D. Burton. Marcus leaves one grandchild Adrian Burton and
a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
R.I.P. to my famous brother, @Marcus Keith Burton. Brother you have lived a full adventurous life, and now it is your turn to finally take your most valuable journey. I love 💘 you forever. ~Ms Rita Burton~
